Paul McGillion

Paul McGillion is a Scottish actor known for his work in television, film, and theatre. He gained recognition for his role as Dr. Carson Beckett on the television series Stargate Atlantis. McGillion was born in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, but his family moved to Canada when he was two. He returned to Scotland during his early teens while his father worked on the Shetland oil rigs. McGillion has a degree in teaching and was part of the national championship-winning wrestling team at Brock University. After graduating, he pursued a career in acting and eventually moved to Vancouver, where he has appeared in numerous film, TV, and theatre productions. McGillion has also taught scene study at the Vancouver Film School.
