Paul Michael (August 15, 1926 – July 8, 2011) was an American actor known for his appearances on American television shows such as Kojak, Hill Street Blues, Alias, and Frasier. He also played King Johnny Romano on Dark Shadows. In addition to his TV work, Michael had roles in movies such as Mask of the Red Death and the TV movie Where There's a Will. He gained recognition for his performances on Broadway, playing the title role in Zorba the Greek, Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, and the barber in Man of La Mancha. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Michael served as a sergeant in the Army during World War II and went on to earn a B.A. in English literature from Brown University. He was married to actress Marion Ross for 23 years and had two sons, Matt and Greg Michael.
