Paul Nicholas Mason Biography
Paul Nicholas Mason (born 1958) is an English-born Canadian novelist, playwright, and actor. Mason grew up in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and British Columbia before settling in southern Ontario. He graduated from Trent University with an honors degree in English Literature and later obtained a B.Ed. from Queen's University at Kingston. For 32 years, Mason taught English and Drama at Lakefield College School before retiring in 2015. In 2005, he published his debut novel, Battered Soles, which tells the story of a fictional pilgrimage from Peterborough, Ontario, to Lakefield. The novel combines comedy with moments of pathos and was nominated for the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour.
