Paul John Weller (born John William Weller) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. He rose to fame as a member of the new wave/mod revival band the Jam from 1972 to 1982. Weller then found success with the blue-eyed soul music of the Style Council from 1983 to 1989. Since 1992, he has been a solo artist. Known for his distinctive voice and guitar skills, Weller's songwriting often reflects English society, with many of his lyrics exploring working-class life. He is often referred to as 'The Modfather' and has been an influence on Britpop bands like Oasis. Weller has received several awards, including four Brit Awards and the 2006 Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
