Paula Deen

Paula Deen, born on January 19, 1947, is an American chef, cookbook author, and TV personality. She is best known for her Southern cooking style. Deen owns and operates The Lady & Sons restaurant and Paula Deen's Creek House in Savannah, Georgia. She has published fifteen cookbooks throughout her career. Deen's passion for cooking started in her 20s when she battled depression and agoraphobia. Cooking became a therapeutic outlet for her, allowing her to prepare food for her family without leaving the house. She draws inspiration from her grandmother, Irene Paul, who taught her the art of Southern cooking.
