Pauline Hanson Biography
Pauline Lee Hanson (née Seccombe, formerly Zagorski; born 27 May 1954) is an Australian politician and founder of One Nation, a right-wing populist political party. She has been serving as a senator for Queensland since the 2016 Federal Election. Prior to entering politics, Hanson ran a fish and chip shop and served as a member of Ipswich City Council in Queensland. In 1996, she won the federal election as an independent candidate after being disendorsed by the Liberal Party due to controversial comments about Aboriginal Australians. Hanson co-founded One Nation in 1997 and became its only MP. Although she attempted to switch divisions in 1998, she was unsuccessful. Hanson's party experienced a surge in popularity at a later time.
