Peg Phillips Biography
Peg Phillips (born Margaret Linton, September 20, 1918 – November 7, 2002) was an American actress known for her role as storekeeper Ruth-Anne Miller on the TV series Northern Exposure. Born in Everett, Washington, Phillips had a passion for acting from a young age. She performed in dinner theater as a hobby and pursued her dream of becoming an actress. She was married to Daniel Greene, a Navy man stationed in Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor. In the 1950s, she married Chester Phillips and faced health challenges, including polio and a serious abdominal infection. Phillips later lived in Santa Cruz, California, raising her children and working as an accountant at Sweet Service. She remained involved with local theater groups and her favorite play was Bell, Book and Candle.
