Penny Downie

Penny Downie is an Australian actress known for her stage and television appearances in the United Kingdom. She began her career in Australia, performing in TV series such as The Box, Bellbird, The Sullivans, Prisoner, and Learned Friends. In the early 1980s, she moved to the UK and has since appeared in numerous British TV shows including Inspector Morse, Kavanagh QC, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Spooks, and New Tricks. Downie also had a role in the Clint Eastwood film Invictus in 2009. Notably, she played Rev Mother Augustine in the Father Brown episode 'The Bride of Christ' in 2013. Downie continues to contribute to the entertainment industry with her remarkable talent.
