    The Last Kingdom is a historical drama television series based on Bernard Cornwell's novel series The Saxon Stories. Set in the late 9th century, the show follows the life of Uhtred of Bebbanburg, a young nobleman captured and raised by Danes after they kill his father. As England is divided into separate kingdoms and Viking invaders threaten to conquer the land, Uhtred finds himself torn between his Danish upbringing and his loyalty to the English kingdom of Wessex.

    Peri Baumeister Biography
    Peri Baumeister (born 1986) is a German TV and film actress. She is best known in the UK for her role as Lady Gisela in series two and three of The Last Kingdom (2018), as well as her portrayal of Sara in the 2019 Netflix television series Skylines. Baumeister also appeared in the vampire plane horror Blood Red Sky in 2021. She comes from a family with a background in acting, as her father is actor Edwin Noel-Baumeister and her older half-sister is actress Muriel Baumeister. Baumeister studied acting at the August Everding Prinzregententheater in Munich and made her cinematic debut in the film Tabu - It is the Soul of a Stranger on Earth, where she received the prize for Best Young Actress.
