Perry Firestone King is an American actor born on April 30, 1948, in Alliance, Ohio. He is best known for his roles on television and in films. King received a Golden Globe nomination for his role in the television film The Hasty Heart (1983), a remake of the 1949 film. His father was a physician, and his maternal grandfather was Maxwell Perkins, an editor for Charles Scribner's Sons. King is descended from U.S. Senator William M. Evarts and Roger Sherman, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. He earned a degree in drama from Yale University and studied at Juilliard. King made his film debut in Slaughterhouse-Five (1972) and has since appeared in numerous films, television series, and TV movies.
