Peter Chernin (born May 29, 1951) is an American film and television producer, businessman, and investor. He is the chairman and CEO of The Chernin Group (TCG), which he founded in 2010. TCG focuses on making investments in technology and media companies in the US, developing premium content for film and television, and capitalizing on strategic business opportunities in emerging markets. Chernin began his career at Fox in 1989, after serving as president and chief operating officer at Lorimar Film Entertainment. He has also worked as an executive vice president of programming and marketing for Showtime/The Movie Channel. Chernin received his B.A. in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
