Peter Killian Gallagher is an American actor born on August 19, 1955, in New York City. He has had a prolific career in Hollywood since 1980, starring in numerous films and television shows. Gallagher is best known for his role as Sandy Cohen in the popular television drama series The O.C. from 2003 to 2007. He has also had recurring roles in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Californication, and Grace & Frankie, among others. In addition to his screen work, Gallagher has a strong presence in musical theatre, with his most notable role being Sky Masterson in the 1992 Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls.
