Peter Kay Biography
Peter John Kay (born 2 July 1973) is an English actor, comedy writer, and stand-up comedian. He gained recognition for his work in television and film as well as being a successful author. Born and raised in Farnworth, Kay studied media performance at the University of Salford. He started his career as a part-time stand-up comedian, winning the North West Comedian of the Year award. Kay's breakthrough came in 2000 when he co-wrote and starred in the Channel 4 sitcom 'That Peter Kay Thing,' which led to the spin-off series 'Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights.' He also created and starred in 'Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere.' Kay has written three books and is known for his popular stand-up comedy shows.
