Peter Kurth is a German actor known for his versatile performances in film and theater. Born on April 4, 1957, in Güstrow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, East Germany, Kurth developed a passion for acting during his childhood visits to the local movie theater. He honed his skills at the state drama school in Rostock from 1978 to 1981. Kurth began his career at various theaters, including Theater für junge Leute in Magdeburg and Theater der Altmark in Stendal. He gained recognition for his exceptional talent and joined well-known theaters such as the Thalia Theater in Hamburg and the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. In 2016, Kurth won the German Film Award for Best Actor for his outstanding portrayal of a boxer with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in the drama film 'A Heavy Heart'.
