Peter Lawson Jones (born December 23, 1952) is an American actor, philanthropist, and politician of the Democratic party. He is best known for serving as a county commissioner in Cuyahoga County and representing the state of Ohio as a state representative from 1997 to 2002. Jones was born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where he developed a strong passion for community service. He earned his AB magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1975 and his juris doctor from Harvard in 1980. Jones has been actively involved in local politics, having served on the Shaker Heights city council and running as a gubernatorial candidate's running mate in 1994.
