Peter MacNicol

Peter MacNicol is an American actor known for his diverse roles in film and television. Born on April 10, 1954, he achieved recognition for his Broadway debut in Crimes of the Heart, which earned him a Theatre World Award in 1981. MacNicol has appeared in notable films such as Dragonslayer (1981), Sophie's Choice (1982), and Ghostbusters II (1989). He received critical acclaim and won a Primetime Emmy Award for his portrayal of the eccentric lawyer John Cage in the comedy-drama series Ally McBeal (1997–2002). MacNicol has also been praised for his performances in Chicago Hope (1994–1998), Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law (2000–2007), Numbers (2005–2010), and Grey's Anatomy (2010–2011).
