Peter Vaughan Biography
Peter Vaughan (born Peter Ewart Ohm; 4 April 1923 – 6 December 2016) was an English character actor known for his supporting roles in British film and television productions. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Grouty in the sitcom Porridge and its film adaptation. Vaughan also appeared in Citizen Smith, Straw Dogs, Time Bandits, Chancer, and The Remains of the Day. He had his final role as Maester Aemon in Game of Thrones. Born in Wem, Shropshire, Vaughan began his schooling in Wellington. Throughout his career, he delivered memorable performances and was respected for his talent and contributions to the entertainment industry.
