Phil Cornwell is an English actor, comedian, impressionist, and writer. He is known for his work in various television and radio series, including Dead Ringers and Gorillaz. Born on 5 October 1957 in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, Cornwell began his career in 1980 on the BBC youth programme Something Else - Southend. He gained popularity for his portrayal of DJ Dave Clifton in I'm Alan Partridge and the movie Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa. Cornwell's voice work includes the character Murdoc Niccals in the virtual band Gorillaz. He has also provided impersonations of Mick Jagger, David Bowie, and others for BBC Radio 1's Steve Wright in the Afternoon show. Cornwell co-wrote and performed in The Glam Metal Detectives and Stella Street.
