Phil Simms
Phillip Martin Simms, born on November 3, 1955, is an American former professional football player and current television sportscaster. He spent his entire 15-year career as a quarterback for the New York Giants in the NFL. Simms was the seventh overall pick in the 1979 NFL Draft after playing college football for the Morehead State Eagles. He was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Super Bowl XXI, leading the Giants to a 39-20 victory over the Denver Broncos. Simms set a record for highest completion percentage in a Super Bowl, completing 88% of his passes. He was also selected to the Pro Bowl in the 1985 and 1993 seasons. After retirement, Simms became a career broadcaster, working as an analyst for ESPN and NBC.
