Phoebe Strole is an American actress born on January 22, 1983, in Fort Worth, Texas. She is best known for originating the role of Anna in the 2006 Broadway musical Spring Awakening. Strole graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 2006 and has appeared in various stage productions including Mourning Becomes Electra, Parade, The Metal Children, and Kung Fu. She has also worked in film and television, starring in Sorority Wars and Hamlet 2, and making appearances in shows like Rescue Me, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, 30 Rock, and Glee. Strole was nominated for a Grammy award in 2008 for Best Musical Show Album for her work in Spring Awakening.
