Pierre Frank Watkin (December 29, 1887 – February 3, 1960) was an American character actor known for his roles as distinguished authority figures during the Golden Age of Hollywood. He gained recognition for his performances as Mr. Skinner in The Bank Dick (1940), Mr. Twitchell in Pride of the Yankees (1942), and the first actor to portray Perry White in the Superman serials. Born in Afton Township, Iowa, on December 29, 1887, Watkin grew up in Sioux City before moving to Kansas City, where he began his career in theater. He later toured the Midwest with various theatrical troupes, honing his acting skills before transitioning to film and television.
