    Polly Jean Harvey, born on October 9, 1969, is an English singer-songwriter known for her proficiency as a vocalist, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist. She began her career in 1988 as a member of the local band Automatic Dlamini, where she showcased her skills as a vocalist, guitarist, and saxophonist. Harvey later formed the eponymous trio PJ Harvey in 1991, releasing two studio albums, 'Dry' (1992) and 'Rid of Me' (1993). After the disbandment of the trio, Harvey continued as a solo artist and has since released nine studio albums, collaborating with musicians like John Parish, Rob Ellis, Mick Harvey, and Eric Drew Feldman. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including two Mercury Prizes for her albums 'Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea' (2000) and 'Let England Shake' (2011).
