Priscilla Pointer Biography
Priscilla Marie Pointer (born May 18, 1924) is an American retired actress. She began her career in the theater in the late 1940s, including productions on Broadway. Later, Pointer moved to Hollywood and made appearances on television in the early 1950s. She became a regular screen actress in the 1970s. Pointer is the mother of actress and singer Amy Irving, and she often appeared alongside her as her mother or mother-in-law in various films. She is the former mother-in-law of filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Bruno Barreto, as well as the mother-in-law of documentary filmmaker Kenneth Bowser, Jr. Pointer was born in New York City to artist parents. She has a Jewish family background.
