His music video for 'Gangnam Style' was the first video to reach one billion views on YouTube in December 2012, establishing him as the King of YouTube. As of September 2023, the video has over 4.9 billion views, making it one of the most viewed videos on the platform. Psy was hailed as the 'Viral Star of 2012' by MTV and has performed alongside American rapper MC Hammer on a globally televised New Year's Eve celebration.
