Quinta Brunson (born December 21, 1989) is an American writer, producer, actress, and comedian. She gained recognition for creating, co-writing, and starring in the ABC comedy series Abbott Elementary (2021–present). Prior to this, Brunson rose to prominence with her self-produced Instagram series Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date. She then went on to produce and act in content for BuzzFeed Video and developed two streaming series with BuzzFeed Motion Pictures. Brunson made history at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards as the first Black woman to receive three comedy nominations, winning for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. She was also nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Brunson received a 2022 Peabody Award for her exceptional work in Abbott Elementary and was named one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in 2022. Additionally, she has appeared in series such as iZombie, Single Parents, and Miracle Workers.
