Rachel Pickup Biography
Rachel Pickup (born 15 July 1973) is a British theatre, television, and film actress. She gained prominence for her role as Kaye Bentley in the 10-part BBC TV series No Bananas, alongside Alison Steadman and Tom Bell. Pickup has since appeared in numerous British and American TV shows, and has built a strong presence in the theatre world, particularly in Shakespearean productions, portraying notable heroines. She notably played Portia in The Merchant Of Venice at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, opposite Jonathan Pryce. Pickup has also ventured into film, appearing in Chronic, directed by Michel Franco and starring Tim Roth. Born in London to an American mother and a British father, Pickup later moved to New York in 2011. She began her acting journey at the National Youth Theatre and graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
