Rachel Roy is an American fashion designer born on January 15, 1974, in San Bernardino County, California. She was raised in Seaside, California, and attended Seaside High School. Roy started her career in New York City as a wardrobe stylist and interned at the fashion label Rocawear. She eventually became the creative director of the women's and children's divisions at Rocawear and met her future husband, Damon Dash. In 2004, Roy launched her own fashion collection.
