    Rahul Bose (born 27 July 1967) is an Indian actor, director, screenwriter, social activist, and athlete. Known for his work in Indian cinema, he has appeared in Bengali films like Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, Kalpurush, Anuranan, Antaheen, Laptop, and The Japanese Wife, as well as Hindi films like Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam, Jhankaar Beats, Kucch Luv Jaisaa, Dil Dhadakne Do, Chameli, and Shaurya. Bose also played the antagonist in the Tamil thriller Vishwaroopam and its sequel. He has been recognized by Time magazine as 'the superstar of Indian arthouse cinema' and by Maxim as 'the Sean Penn of Oriental cinema.' In addition to his acting career, Bose is the President of the Indian Rugby Football Union and is actively involved in social activism, including relief efforts after the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami and founding the anti-discrimination NGO, The Foundation.
