Randy Kerber (born September 25, 1958) is an American composer, orchestrator, and keyboard player known for his prolific career in the world of cinema. Born in Encino, California, Kerber embarked on his first national tour with Bette Midler in 1977 at the age of 19. He gained recognition when he was nominated for an Oscar in 1986 for Best Original Score for the film The Color Purple, alongside Quincy Jones and others. Kerber has worked on over 800 motion pictures as a studio keyboardist, including Titanic, A Beautiful Mind, and the first three Harry Potter films. Additionally, he has collaborated with renowned artists like Barbra Streisand and Eric Clapton. Kerber's notable contributions include orchestrating on over 50 films, often alongside Academy Award winner James Horner.
