Raquel Welch

Raquel Welch (September 5, 1940 – February 15, 2023) was an American actress and model. She gained attention for her role in Fantastic Voyage (1966) and subsequently signed a contract with 20th Century Fox. Welch became an international sex symbol after starring in One Million Years B.C. (1966), where her iconic doe-skin bikini images became popular posters. She appeared in numerous films including Bedazzled (1967), Bandolero! (1968), 100 Rifles (1969), and Hannie Caulder (1971). Welch broke the mold of the traditional sex symbol by portraying strong female characters, solidifying her as an icon of the 1960s and 1970s. She also made several television variety specials.
