Ray Evernham Biography
Ray Evernham is an American consultant for Hendrick Companies and a former auto racing crew chief for Bill Davis Racing and Hendrick Motorsports. He is also the owner of his own team, Evernham Motorsports, from 2001 to 2010. Evernham is widely known for his successful partnership with driver Jeff Gordon, winning three Winston Cup Series Championships together. He was honored as the NASCAR Winston Cup Illustrated 'Person of the Year' in 1999. Evernham's contributions to the sport led to his induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2018. Additionally, he co-founded the racing series Superstar Racing Experience (SRX). Prior to his career in racing, Evernham was a talented modified racer and a chassis specialist for the International Race of Champions (IROC).
