Rayford Barnes
Rayford Barnes (October 23, 1920 – November 11, 2000) was an American film and TV character actor from Whitesboro, Texas. He attended the University of Texas and acted in plays at the university as well as little theaters in Dallas and San Antonio. Barnes served 4 1⁄2 years in the Navy during World War II as a navigator. After his military service, he worked as a disc jockey at radio stations KTSA and WOAI. Barnes gained membership in Actors Equity in 1950 and began acting on stage in Repertory Theater productions. He also worked off-stage, creating staging and scenes for two of the theaters in the San Francisco area.
