Rebecca Naomi Jones is an American actress and singer known for her performances in Broadway rock musicals, including Passing Strange, American Idiot, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. She made history as the first woman of color to play Laurey in Oklahoma! on Broadway. Jones also starred in New York City's Shakespeare in the Park adaptation of As You Like It. Born on March 31, 1981, in New York City, she comes from a musical and artistic background, with a musician father and a photographer mother. Jones began her career performing in the children's chorus of the Metropolitan Opera and later graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
