With ten Emmy nominations and four wins for Outstanding Supporting Actress, she is widely recognized for her talent. Perlman has also made appearances in various films, including Canadian Bacon (1995), Matilda (1996), The Sessions (2012), Poms (2019), and Barbie (2023). Born on March 31, 1948, in Coney Island, Brooklyn, Perlman grew up in Bensonhurst in a Jewish family with roots in Russia. She comes from a family with a strong presence in the entertainment industry, including her sister Heide, a television writer and producer who worked on popular shows such as Cheers and Frasier.
