Ricardo Gutiérrez

Ricardo Gutierrez is a Mexican American actor, director, and teacher known for his work in theater and television. He gained recognition for his recurring role as Alderman Mata on the first season of the Starz Network drama series Boss. Gutierrez studied at Illinois State University and has appeared in performances at renowned theaters such as The Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater, Lookingglass Theatre Company, and Denver Center Theater. He has held various artistic director positions, including at Glass Onion Theater, Nosotros Theatre Company, and Canterbury Theatre. Gutierrez has also directed notable productions such as How Long Will I Cry?: Voices of Youth Violence, The Happiest Song Plays Last, and Unorganized Crime.
