Riccardo Scamarcio is an Italian actor and film producer, born on November 13, 1979, in Trani, Apulia. He trained as an actor at the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema in Rome and currently resides there. Scamarcio gained recognition for his role in the TV series in 2000 and his first lead role in the feature film Three Steps Over Heaven (2004) directed by Luca Lucini. He quickly became popular among the Italian-speaking audience, particularly the younger generation. Scamarcio's success led to him being considered a sex symbol and receiving more acting opportunities, including his role in Texas (2005) directed by Fausto Paravidino and joining the cast of Romanzo Criminale, portraying a mysterious thug in a powerful portrayal of a mafiosi community directed by Michele Placido. He also appeared in The Black Arrow, a TV series based on Robert Louis Stevenson's novel, aired on Canale 5 in 2006.
