Rich Sommer

Rich Sommer (born February 2, 1978) is an American actor, widely recognized for his role as Harry Crane on the critically acclaimed AMC drama series Mad Men (2007-2015), earning him two Screen Actors Guild Awards as part of the ensemble cast. He has also appeared in various comedy-drama films, including The Devil Wears Prada (2006), Celeste and Jesse Forever (2012), The Giant Mechanical Man (2012), Hello, My Name Is Doris (2015), and BlackBerry (2023). Additionally, Sommer provided the voice for Henry in the video game Firewatch (2016). Notably, he guest starred in several episodes of the TV show Elementary, and recently portrayed Detective Dean Riley in The CW crime drama series In the Dark (2019). Sommer was born in Ohio and raised in Stillwater, Minnesota, where he attended Oak-Land Junior High School and Stillwater Area High School. He pursued his passion for theater and singing at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, where he studied theater and was a member of The Concordia Choir. Sommer further honed his acting skills through improvisation training at the Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis.
