Richard Ayoade Biography
Richard Ayoade is a British comedian, actor, broadcaster, and filmmaker. He gained recognition for his role as Maurice Moss in the Channel 4 sitcom The IT Crowd, winning a BAFTA for Best Male Comedy Performance. Ayoade was the president of the Footlights club at the University of Cambridge from 1998-1999. He debuted his characters Dean Learner and Garth Marenghi at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2000, later bringing them to television with Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and Man to Man with Dean Learner. Ayoade has also appeared in comedy shows such as The Mighty Boosh and Nathan Barley. Additionally, he has directed music videos and wrote and directed the comedy-drama film Submarine.
