Richard Dawkins

Richard Dawkins is a British evolutionary biologist and author. Born on March 26, 1941, he is an emeritus fellow of New College, Oxford, and was Professor for Public Understanding of Science at the University of Oxford from 1995 to 2008. Dawkins gained popularity with his 1976 book, 'The Selfish Gene,' which introduced the gene-centred view of evolution and coined the term 'meme.' Known for his criticism of creationism and intelligent design, Dawkins is also a vocal atheist. His works include 'The Blind Watchmaker,' published in 1986, where he argues against the watchmaker analogy and describes evolutionary processes as unguided by a sentient designer. In 2006, Dawkins published 'The God Delusion,' which asserts the non-existence of a supernatural creator and challenges religious beliefs.
