Richard Edson Biography
Richard Edson (born January 1, 1954) is an American actor and musician. He was born in New Rochelle, New York to a Jewish family. Edson was a founding member of the San Francisco art rock band The Alterboys and played both drums and trumpet. He was also Sonic Youth's original drummer from 1981 to 1982, and played drums for Konk at the same time. Edson left Sonic Youth after the release of their self-titled debut EP to play with Konk full-time. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including 'Stranger Than Paradise', 'Platoon', 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', and 'Do the Right Thing'.
