Richard Edward Gant (born March 10, 1944) is an American actor known for his diverse roles in film and television. He gained recognition for his portrayal of the Don King-esque George Washington Duke in the film Rocky V (1990). Gant has appeared in several notable TV shows including Deadwood (2004–2006) as Hostetler, Men of a Certain Age (2009–2012) as Owen, and in episodes of Miami Vice (1989), L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, Seinfeld, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Smallville. His film credits include Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, and Godzilla (1998) where he played a senior naval officer.
