Richard Rycroft (born 28 June 1960) is an English actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as Maester Wolkan on the HBO series Game of Thrones. Rycroft began his acting career in 2001 and has appeared in various British drama television series such as EastEnders, Casualty, Holby City, and Doctors. He has also featured in films like The Turn and Bridget Jones's Baby. In addition to his acting work, Rycroft ventured into stand-up comedy in August 2007 and was a finalist in the 2010 Laughing Horse new act of the year competition. He has also appeared in television series like Wolf Hall, Secret Smile, Not Going Out, and Apple Tree Yard, and lent his voice to the Fighting Fantasy audio dramas in 2017.
