Rick Hearst, born January 4, 1965, is an American actor known for his roles in American soap operas. He was born Richard Charles Herbst in Howard Beach, New York, and raised in Dallas, Texas. Hearst has been married to Donna Smoot since June 9, 1990, and they have two sons. He made his film debut in Brain Damage, directed by Frank Henenlotter. Some of his notable soap opera roles include Scott 'Scotty' Banning II in Days of Our Lives (1989–1990), Alan-Michael Spaulding in Guiding Light (1990–1996), Matt Clark in The Young and the Restless (2000–2001), Whipple 'Whip' Jones III in The Bold and the Beautiful (2002, 2009-2011), and Ric Lansing in General Hospital (2002–2009, 2014-present). Hearst has also made guest appearances on various TV series including Beverly Hills, 90210, Jenny, and Pacific Blue.
