Rick Hoffman, born Richard Edward Hoffman on June 12, 1970, is an American actor. He gained recognition for his roles in various TV shows including The Bernie Mac Show (2002–2005) as Jerry Best, Samantha Who? (2007–2009) as Chase Chapman, and Suits (2011–2019) as Louis Litt. Hoffman was born in New York City, growing up in Roslyn Heights with his brother Jeff. He attended The Wheatley School in Old Westbury before pursuing a theater arts major at the University of Arizona. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Hoffman's career started with small roles until he landed a main role on The $treet in 2000. He has since appeared in numerous TV shows and movies.
