Richard Bartlett Schroder, known as Ricky Schroder, is an American actor and filmmaker. He was born on April 13, 1970, in Brooklyn, New York City and raised on Staten Island. Schroder made his debut as a child actor in the film The Champ (1979), where he became the youngest Golden Globe award recipient. He gained further recognition as a child star on the sitcom Silver Spoons (1982–87). Continuing his acting career as an adult, Schroder appeared in notable projects such as the Western miniseries Lonesome Dove (1989) and the police drama series NYPD Blue (1998–2001). He also ventured into directing, with his debut film Black Cloud (2004) and has produced various films and television series, including Locker 13 and The Fighting Season.
