    Riddick Lamont Bowe, born on August 10, 1967, is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1989 to 2008. He achieved great success in his career, holding the undisputed world heavyweight championship in 1992 and winning the super heavyweight silver medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Bowe became a two-time world heavyweight champion, winning the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), and International Boxing Federation (IBF) titles by defeating Evander Holyfield in 1992. He was named Fighter of the Year by The Ring magazine and the Boxing Writers' Association of America in the same year. Bowe's decision to vacate the WBC title in protest against fighting Lennox Lewis resulted in the undisputed championship becoming fragmented until 1999.
