Rip Torn Biography
Rip Torn, born Elmore Rual Torn Jr. on February 6, 1931, in Temple, Texas, was an American actor with a career spanning over 60 years. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Artie the producer on The Larry Sanders Show, earning six Emmy Award nominations and a win in 1996. Torn was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Cross Creek (1983).
