Rip Torn Biography
Rip Torn, born Elmore Rual Torn Jr. on February 6, 1931, in Temple, Texas, was an American actor with a career spanning over 60 years. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Artie the producer on The Larry Sanders Show, earning six Emmy Award nominations and a win in 1996. Torn was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Cross Creek (1983). He appeared in popular films such as the Men in Black franchise (1997-2002) and Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004) as Patches O'Houlihan. Known for his versatile performances, Torn left a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
