    Rita Coolidge (born May 1, 1945) is an American recording artist known for her success in the 1970s and 1980s. Her songs were featured on various Billboard charts, including pop, country, adult contemporary, and jazz. Coolidge achieved recognition with hits such as '(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher,' 'We're All Alone,' and 'I'd Rather Leave While I'm in Love.' She also collaborated with Kris Kristofferson and together they won two Grammy Awards. Coolidge's notable contribution includes the theme song for the 1983 James Bond film Octopussy titled 'All Time High.' Born in Lafayette, Tennessee, Coolidge is of Cherokee and Scottish descent and attended Florida State University.
