Robbie Coltrane Biography
Robbie Coltrane, born Anthony Robert McMillan, was a Scottish actor known for his role as Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter film series. He gained worldwide recognition for his portrayal of the beloved character. Coltrane was appointed an OBE in 2006 by Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to drama. Throughout his career, he received several accolades, including the Evening Standard British Film Award for Comedy in 1990 and an honor for his outstanding contribution to film at the British Academy Scotland Awards in 2011. Coltrane started his career in the sketch series Alfresco and later starred in the BBC miniseries Tutti Frutti alongside Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, and Emma Thompson. He achieved national prominence in the ITV series Cracker, in which he played criminal psychologist Dr. Eddie 'Fitz' Fitzgerald.
