Jaime Royal 'Robbie' Robertson (July 5, 1943 – August 9, 2023) was a Canadian musician known for his work as a guitarist and songwriter. He gained fame as the lead guitarist for Bob Dylan in the mid-late 1960s and early-mid 1970s and as a member of the Band from their inception until 1978. Robertson's contributions to the Band helped shape the Americana music genre. He wrote several iconic songs with the Band, including 'The Weight', 'The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down', and 'Up on Cripple Creek'. In addition to his work with the Band, Robertson had a successful solo career, with hits like 'Broken Arrow' and 'Somewhere Down the Crazy River'. He was also recognized for his collaborations on film and TV soundtracks.
